B. Giuffredi A scuola con la chitarra Raccolta di brani monodici e polifonici per i primi corsi. Primi esercizi di tecnica meccanica.
The favour met by the first edition of this anthology both amongst scholars and amongst those teachers who, out of mere passion, occasionally perform the indispensable function of high-level cultural promoters has prompted the publisher to take heed to the unignorable demand for a second edition of A scuola con la chitarra, whose spirit has remained unchanged.

B. Giuffredi-G. Scabbia: Suonare in Trio Collection of pieces for flute (violin-oboe-guitar) or two guitars
The practice of concerted music provides the pupil with a useful supplementary tool for honing the technical and expression skills learned during instrument classes. Though abundant and manifold, the chamber literature spanning over the last three centuries presents a few difficulties which cannot be easily tackled by beginners.

Introduction
The didactic force of Fernando Sor’s twenty Studies, which Andrés Segovia selected from the famous 1945 edition by Edwards B. Marks Music Corp. (Italian edition: Curci) is still out of discussion, being confirmed by the introduction of these studies in the Ministerial Programme for lower and middle courses at the Italian Conservatories.

Introduction
In the realm of nineteenth century composing dedicated to the “étude”, the 25 Etudes Mélodiques progressives op. 60 by Matteo Carcassi (Florence 1792 - Paris 1853) represent, as a whole, the best artistic production in this genre.
Guitarist composers, Carcassi’s contemporaries, have left us excellent pages of music, and it goes without saying that, from an analysis of the repertory that has come down to us, the need to select from among various opus numbers stems from the qualitative lack of continuity in these études.
In the 25 Etudes Mélodiques progressives op. 60 both the mechanical objective as well as the search for musicality complete each other, leaving the musician (student or concert performer) the possibility of developing a musical thought which is an opportunity to pinpoint and at the same time set limits for contingent technical problems.

B. Giuffredi, Beubelet per chitarra Edizioni Musicali Sinfonica: 5 pages
Here is a concise modern work mainly in two voices of medium difficulty without any particular tonal centre or key signature. There is, once again, no information to hand with regard to the composer, or the work, or what its title means, as the publishing house has not seen fit to write a foreword. That said, the work is in modern atonal style but displays a certain emotional trait throughout, in a similar vein to Henze's Drei Tentos. The writing is meticulously notated with many changes of mood, dynamics, multiple time signatures, many fingering indications and lots of descriptive words to help the player along. Written in 1997 this is one of the better modern works to come my way of late, and as such may be well worth your while investigation if the style appeals. Chris Dumigan (CLASSICAL GUITAR)
